Low-density polyurethane systems are suitable for improving the thermoacoustic insulation of buildings. There are numerous advantages in their use, such as the elimination of thermal bridges, good adhesion to the substrate and ease of mobility, as we don’t have to transport or store bulky products as in the case of other materials for insulation.
Synthesia Technology's Polyurethane Spray S-OC-010 is a polyurethane system designed to improve thermocoustic insulation against airborne noise in building enclosures, both in partitions between neighbours and exterior façades.
The polyurethane system Polyurethane Spray S-OC-010
Polyuretan Spray S-OC-010 is an acoustic polyurethane system in two components: polyol and isocyanate. The system is applied by "in situ" sprayed polyurethane foam, obtaining low density open cell foam (9-11 g/l) with good acoustic absorption properties. The Polyuretan Spray S-OC-010 system does not contain foaming agents that damage the ozone layer.

Application of the Polyuretan Spray S-OC-010 system
The Polyuretan Spray S-OC-010 system is applied by spraying with high pressure equipment, equipped with heating, with a mixing ratio of 1:1 in volume. Its main application is the improvement of thermal-acoustic insulation to airborne noise in building enclosures, both in partitions between neighbours and exterior facades.
One aspect to be taken into account when applying is to avoid an excessive overlapping of the successive applications that are necessary to cover the work surface. In this way, irregularities in the sprayed surface are reduced and the applied thickness is better controlled.
The recommended initial setpoint temperature of the hoses and preheaters is 50-60ºC. The recommended initial setpoint pressure is 800-1200 psi. The recommended minimum temperature of the substrate during the spray application is 5ºC and the temperature of the components is 20-30ºC.

Sound absorption test Poliuretan Spray S-OC-010
Sound absorption of Polyuretan Spray S-OC-010 has been determined at different frequencies in reverberant chamber according to the UNE-EN 20354:1993 standard. The results obtained, as well as the sound absorption values of closed-cell polyurethane foam for thermal insulation such as Polyuretan S Spray, are shown in the following table.
